1. Agreement to These Terms

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of Pricer ("we", "our" or "us"), which is run by Nick Vaudrey in New Zealand. They cover the Pricer website, the Pricer iOS app, the Pricer browser extension and the connections that let AI services use your account. By using Pricer, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Pricer Does

Pricer compares grocery, pharmacy and pet product prices from the New Zealand retailers and stores shown on the platform. It is a free information service and you do not buy anything through us. We are independent and are not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by any retailer featured on Pricer.

3. Prices and Comparisons

Prices and product details come from retailers' websites and apps and change often. They can differ by store, be out of date, or differ from the price at the checkout. Some prices only apply to members or loyalty card holders, where shown.

Comparisons only cover the retailers, stores and products on Pricer, not the whole market. A list or basket total only includes the items a retailer stocks and prices, so totals for different retailers may not cover the same items, and the "cheapest" total is the lowest of the totals shown. Where a store's own price is missing, we may use the latest price from another store in the same chain, or a substitute you have chosen. Recipe costs are estimates and may differ from what you pay for whole packs.

We match the same product across retailers and work out unit prices automatically. We take care to get this right, but matches and calculations can be wrong. Please check the price, size and product with the retailer before you buy.

4. AI Features

The Pricer assistant, recipe import, receipt scanning and substitute suggestions use AI. AI can misread information, miss items or give answers that sound right but are wrong, including quantities, ingredients, allergens and whether a product suits you or your pet.

Treat AI results as a starting point. Check original recipes, product labels and retailer prices before relying on them. Nothing on Pricer is medical, dietary, veterinary or financial advice. How we handle information sent to AI providers is explained in our Privacy Policy.

5. Your Account

Some features need an account. Please give accurate details, keep your login and any connected services secure, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity you carry out or allow on your account. You can delete your account from your profile at any time.

6. Your Content

You keep any rights you have in the recipes, images, receipts, messages and feedback you add to Pricer. You give us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, process and display that content as needed to provide the features you use, including sending it to the service providers described in our Privacy Policy. The licence ends when you delete the content or your account.

Only add or import content you are entitled to use. Recipes you import from other websites are for your personal use, and their text and photos remain the property of their publishers.

7. Connected AI Services

You can connect an AI service, such as Claude or ChatGPT, to your account. When you approve a connection, you authorise that service to read your list, stores, preferences and recipes, look up prices and import recipes on your behalf. Connected services are run by other companies under their own terms, and we are not responsible for what they do with information you allow them to access. You can disconnect a service at any time from AI Agents in your account.

8. Emails and Notifications

We send account and security emails that you need to use Pricer. If you save products, we email you a summary of their price changes, weekly unless you choose daily. Push notifications are only sent if you allow them on your device. Product news is optional, and new accounts only receive it if they opt in. You can turn off price updates, push notifications and product news at any time in your settings, and every price update and news email has an unsubscribe link.

9. Acceptable Use

When using Pricer, you agree not to:

• Use the service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of these terms;
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the service, its systems or other users' accounts;
• Copy or collect data from Pricer in bulk, by automated means or for commercial purposes without our written permission;
• Interfere with, disrupt or place an unreasonable load on the service;
• Try to make the assistant or other AI features act outside their purpose, reveal how they work, or produce harmful or unlawful content; or
• Misrepresent your identity or impersonate any person or organisation.

10. Intellectual Property

The Pricer service, including its design, text and software, is protected by intellectual property laws. You may use it for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Retailer names, logos, product images and descriptions belong to their respective owners, and showing them on Pricer does not give you any right to reuse them.

11. Third-Party Websites and Services

Pricer links to other websites and services, such as retailers, recipe sites, Apple, Claude and ChatGPT. We are not responsible for their content, products or practices, and using them is subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

12. Your Legal Rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any right or remedy you have that cannot lawfully be excluded, including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986.

13. Limitation of Liability

Subject to section 12, Pricer is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available or error free, or that information from retailers, AI features or other third parties will be complete, current or correct. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Pricer or your reliance on its information, including purchases made based on prices shown.

14. Suspension and Termination

You may stop using Pricer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close an account, or disconnect a connected service, if it breaches these terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the service or other users.

15. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time and will revise the "last updated" date above. We will tell you about significant changes through Pricer or by email before they take effect. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using Pricer and delete your account.

16. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand, and any disputes will be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the New Zealand courts.
